Crazies now offers some of its premiere classes online!

The Crazies offers classes in sketch, improv and standup comedy at the De Pietro Performance Center, live and in-person. Beginning in February, some of our classes will also be available online through the Crazies and also our indie film company (Ree-invent Films). Topics include screenwriting, “How to develop your story and give voice of the ‘character,'” “How to improvise your film the whole time you’re shooting it,” and other film-related courses.

The Crazies will kick off its online program with sketch and standup comedy writing (with other courses launching soon thereafter). The difference between our remote courses and others who teach comedy online is that the Crazies will provide a showcase performance opportunity (7th session) live at the Crazies theater. So, if you take the Crazies sketch writing class, for instance, you can cast the actors for it and stage it at the theater, a 78-seat black-box facility. Have a scene from the screenplay you’ve written in class? Shoot it, then screen it at the De Pietro. We have the resources for screenings, too! What about that standup comedy routine? How will they react to it??  Find out as you take to the stage at the De Pietro! Or use your 7th session to do a simple table read on the De Pietro stage.

All classes offer instruction, lively discussions, and a Q&A segment.

There will be a 45-minute free class for each of our offerings through our “Cheap Laughs” program. The followup tuition-based classes will include 6, 90-minute online sessions, and the opportunity to present your final product at the De Pietro!! The Orange County Crazies offers classes in Improv, Stand-up, Sketch Comedy, and Workshops on how to develop Original Characters as well as workshop on filmmaking. The Orange County Crazies also offer Tween and Teen classes, as well as comedy writing classes. Courses range from weekly sessions to one-day weekend classes, and one-week classes.
